Hot Water & Water Systems
Builds fitted with portable or installed hot-water equipment.
Identify your system first
Portable Smarttek systems and permanently installed hot-water appliances have different setup, ventilation and operating requirements. Use the manual for the actual unit fitted or supplied.
Portable Smarttek systems
Operate in the outdoor conditions permitted by the manufacturer. Never use a portable gas water heater inside a camper, caravan, vehicle or enclosed shower tent. Follow the manual’s placement, clearance, connection and shutdown instructions.
Installed hot-water systems
Follow the appliance instructions for filling, starting, selecting a heat source and draining. Do not switch on a system that requires water in its tank until it has been correctly filled.
Water care
Use suitable drinking-water equipment for fresh-water tanks. Follow the relevant cleaning and storage instructions. If a pump runs unexpectedly, fails to deliver water or a leak appears, switch it off and investigate before continuing use.
Cold weather and storage
Follow the manufacturer’s draining and frost-protection instructions. Switching an appliance off does not necessarily remove water trapped inside it.
The Smarttek Black manual applies to SMA-BLK only, not Lite or other Smarttek models.
