Arriving at Camp & Packing Up
General checklist; use your model’s handover instructions for the correct sequence.
Arriving at camp
Choose a suitable site and check overhead and surrounding clearance.
Secure the vehicle and trailer against movement before unhitching.
Follow the correct hitch, jockey-wheel and levelling procedure.
Use stabilisers only as designed; do not treat them as lifting jacks.
Check clearance before operating a roof, awning, slide or external kitchen.
Connect power and water using the equipment and instructions supplied.
Check that your fridge and required circuits are operating.
Before departure
Secure loose items, cupboards, doors, windows and roof hatches.
Retract and secure the awning, steps, stabilisers, kitchen and any opening roof.
Disconnect and stow campsite power and water connections.
Follow the coupling instructions and physically confirm that it is locked.
Check safety chains, electrical connections and the breakaway connection where fitted.
Secure the jockey wheel in its travel position.
Check tyres, lights and brakes using the approved pre-trip procedure.
Check the load is secure and complete a final walk around.
Awning care
Follow the exact awning manual for supports, tie-downs, weather limits and pack-away. Do not assume an awning is safe unattended or in changing weather because it is described as freestanding.
Use instructions matching the coupling and jockey-wheel version fitted.
